Meet the PNC

Hilary Peter
My husband and I were married at San Clemente Presbyterian church 35 years ago. We raised our family here and have enjoyed serving in many capacities through the years, as well as attending bible studies and growing in our faith. Currently I am serving as a deacon and involved in the Alongside ministry. It would be an honor to serve on the PNC and see who God will choose to lead our church family into the future.

I have been attending SCPC for 8 years. I’ve served on Session and was Clerk of Session for 3 years. I am most passionate about helping this church be a vibrant Christian community so that we can experience and share Jesus’ love locally and beyond. I am excited about the possibility of serving on this PNC to help discern what God has in store for SCPC now and in the future.

My wife and I first visited SCPC in September of 2011. We immediately attended a new member’s class and have been active ever since. We have been active in choir, bell choir, and adult Sunday School. I have also served SCPC as a member of Session. I feel that my life experience in churches has prepared me well for this time. I so desire to see SCPC become the vibrant healthy body I have seen in the past.

Mike Bautista
I moved to San Clemente in 2001 to take a position as the high school ministry assistant at San Clemente Presbyterian Church and this place has become my church home. I met my wife, Suzy, here, we were married here, and we now attend here with our two kids, Ryan and Delaney. I am involved with the music team for Sunday worship service and was recently a part of the mission study committee. I look forward to being a part of the PNC, excited to serve in the discernment and calling of our next pastor.

Bret Daniels | Co-Chairman
My family and I joined SCPC in 2002. I’ve served in leadership in various ways. I was a member of the Admin Committee, and later I served on the Missions Committee after traveling to Malawi with my son, followed by serving as our church liaison to Y-Malawi. I’m an ordained elder and served one term on Session, where I moved to Family Ministries. My time on Missions and Family Ministries has strongly shaped my view of our role as Christian parents in demonstrating to our children what it means to be a disciple of Jesus through our actions in serving others. It is this calling and belief that I look most forward to shaping my service on the PNC.

Greg Hulsizer
My wife Shelley and I have attended SCPC for about 18 months and have been members for a little over a year. I have participated in Marine Ministry events and have served as a greeter. At previous churches I served as a marriage mentor, a Sunday greeter, a building committee member, and was an active bible study group member. I’m a seasoned C-Suite leader with strong executive recruitment and selection experience. I feel God is calling me to offer my background and capabilities as a member of the PNC, and I’d love to have the opportunity to work with others to help select our next pastor.

Sarah Kavlich
I have been attending SCPC since 2002 when my friend invited me to the high school youth group “High Life.” I became connected with the group and started coming on Sunday mornings as well and having my parents start attending SCPC. I have volunteered with various ministries including junior high/small group leader and camp counselor, Sunday school, worship team, y-Malawi and other mission trips including Rancho Sordo Mudo, Care ministry, and hospitality committees. I enjoy volunteering and attending church with my husband and two young daughters. I’m excited to be considered for the PNC and to serve our church in this unique way as we find our next pastor.

JS Davidson
As a 3rd generation member of SCPC, our church has been a cornerstone of my life since the 1980’s. From my earliest days of attending our youth programs like “Youth Club”, “TNT” and “High Life”, I have since been fortunate enough to be a youth leader, camp counselor, VBS volunteer, and current Sunday school teacher.
More recently I have also served on Session for the past 4 years, where I am co-chair of the Family Ministries committee. As I raise my own kids at our amazing Church, I am excited to be a part of the PNC to help find a leader who will shape the future of SCPC, with love and purpose, for the next generation.

Sally Henry
I have been a member of SCPC since 2013, when our family moved to San Clemente. I have enjoyed serving as a deacon, participating in various ministries, and as a staff member from 2014-2020. I am excited to serve on the PNC because I bring a unique perspective, not only as a former staff member, but also having been a part of several different churches as a military family.`

Russ Ketchum | Co-Chairman
I have been attending SCPC with my family since 2018. SCPC has already had a profound impact on my life as my children and I were baptized here on Easter 2023. I have significant experience growing and fostering teams in the technology field, and my wife and I co-founded a non-profit supporting school and church safety. My desire to serve in more of a leadership role motivated me to enroll in Fuller Seminary in the fall of 2023. I’m excited about the church’s future, and felt called to join the PNC where
I could share my executive leadership and interviewing experience while applying my heart for discerning God’s will.

Kelsey Leary | PNC Clerk
I have attended SCPC since I was young, and was involved in the middle and high school programs. I participated in small groups, Christmas Choir and Welcome Inn. I moved away from San Clemente in 2015, and have recently moved back with a husband and baby in tow! My family and I are excited to plug back in to the church and find new ways to serve God and our community. I am hopeful and excited about the future of our Church, and would be honored to serve on the PNC.
